Oooh, I heard a nifty rumour today. Apparantly Gremlins 3 is soon to be in production, with some scenes (possibly the opening) being shot in rural Oxfordshire.

Which is cool, because they need 200 extras, one of which I hope to be me

Has anyone else heard about any Gremlins 3 news? I liked the first two movies, to the degree that they were fun, and the first had a strange mixture of film noir and sci-fi...

But I only want to be in the 3rd for the "Gremlins" cult status, and of course the ?60 a day

    This is bad, bad news.

To me, Gremlins 2 is cinematic perfection. Gremlins 3 will not, CANNOT, surpass this film. It will stain the otherwise impeccable duo of films.

And the Gremlins will inevitably CGI, which will take away the charm of the originals.

Hope it's not true, I really really do...

...and what's Gremlins without Jerry Goldsmith?!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I might be wrong. I've had time to think, and as long as Joe Dante is at the helm and he's given free reign, like with Gremlins 2 (which he says on the DVD is the only film of his worthy of the moniker "a Joe Dante film"), it could be good.

I stand by my Jerry Goldsmith comment, though.

Ooh, gremlins. I've always wondered why they didn't make another one, because they're really fun. Just don't work with the CGI bull. And have Joe Dante work on it.

Where did you here this from m0dsie?

I checked the interner movie data base, which has every film in all stages of production there and they have nothing on it. Its a shame, it could have been an excellent film is done well.

A friend told me, who'd read about them needing 200 extras in a local newspaper. He nor I know whether its a big studio making it or a bunch of freelancers, but I intend to find out more about it as possible

I haven't seen Gremlins, Gremlins 2 nor any of the Back to the Future or Indiana Jones films.
